Hey all. I think you have heard the announcement of Nokia about the release of the most expected release from the Nokia family. Nokia N9 is the one and will be the only release in Meego OS family, which is the OS developed by Nokia themselves.

Nokia involved in bringing up N9 with a huge plan of changing the whole market with their Meego OS and they worked for about 2 years in the dark side of the world. All of a sudden, Google’s Android came to picture and changed the whole mobile trend among the people.

Now, Nokia has announced the release of Nokia N9, Which really has to run a lot in the rally in the middle of Samsung Galaxy series and iPhone Series.

What are the specifications of the new Nokia N9?

According to the press release, Nokia worked over N9 by

  • Watching people,
  • Hearing their needs,
  • Market change,
  • Technology development,
  • Hardware development
  • Innovation

It is also being said that they developed this mobile phone to fit two base conditions

  1. Bigger, All screen phone
  2. Usability

Bigger, All  Screen Phone:

The new Nokia N9 is a 3.9″ sized AMOLED touch screen, with a curved glass, giving you a smooth feeling of touch, when you roll your hand over your mobile. The screen is quite big and to be true, greatly designed in a way that it really gives a good feel while using it.

Usability:

This mobile uses an “all screen” usability, which enables to handle the mobile with one hand and with ease to work with. This mobile gives a real simplicity in mobile usage.

The Concept of Swipe:

Nokia have given the best of what they can give to the smartphone industry with a great style and a new path to phone accessibility, the concept of Swipe. According to Nokia, Swiping is a basic move which really is simple to do and easy to adapt with.

What they have done to polish this mobile?

What makes the mobile phone shine better? It is the applications that enhance the popularity of the mobile. Nokia loaded a decent amount of apps, which we normally use in our life, like facebook, skype, twitter, games like angry birds and a lot of features which you like to load in your mobile later.

Multi screen view

You can see all your running applications in the same screen, which gets sectored like a display that arranges like a grid. Will it be easy to pick applications running? Absolutely yes. Your recently loaded application will always be on the top and you can easily go to it.

Notifications in a single page? Wow!!!!!!!!

Yeah! you are right. This phone loads all the notifications in a single page, which will help you to stay upto date and not to scroll over different applications to see the notifications. If you get all at a place, isn’t that awesome? ;)

Camera:

The mobile has a decent range of 8.0 MP camera in the back with wide screen sensor, with a high resolution video recording and great picture clarity.

All other basic features

It has all other similar features which is built for the mobile industry like OVI store, music downloads, games, internet and all other.

No additional memory card slots with a default 16/64 GB.

They worked on the colored body, which will not get affected even if the scratches are made.

New model alarm setting features.

perfectly responsive browser.

3D mapping in maps, which really gives a live demo of the place.

Great virtual keyboard and multimedia buttons.

Floating icons for the menu.

NFC, giving the great feelingwireless headset and wireless feel technology

Everything in just three major screen flow design. It really is a great looking mobile. But the following are some of the notables before buying N9.

Major Flaws:

  • This N9 will be the one and only Meego OS based phone. So, there will not be much developers working in developing in Meego for one particular phone.
  • This phone do not support Java, which really is one of the notables.
  • The processor, memory and other features are not that better, when compared to the expected releases of iPhone, Samsung and HTC.
  • Memory card slots which really are noted by the users.
  • Camera expectation was a bit high than what is provided.
  • Price is not yet revealed. But will surely not be on the favor of Nokia.

All the above mentioned are the views that I have in mind. It varies from each other. Suggestions are welcome :)
